Cellulitis is an inflammation of body tissue characterized by fever and swelling and redness and pain.

Cellulitis may also be known as:

  • erysipelas
  • acute inflammatory episode
  • lymphangitis
  • dermohypodermal infection
  • lymphoedema-related acute dermatitis
  • dermatolymphangioadenitis (DLA).
