Genetics and primary lymphoedema: an update

Fiona Connell, Clinical Research Fellow in Lymphoedema, St George's University of London

The identification of genes underlying primary lymphoedema has been a relatively slow process. A summary of the known genetic factors involved in the development of primary lymphoedema will be presented, including CCBE1. This gene was recently discovered by the research group at St George’s to be mutated in generalised lymphatic dysplasia.
